NEW COMPETENCES

IN ACCESS TO TOURISM IN V4 COUNTRIES

New competences in access to tourism in V4 countries is the title of the project implemented in the period from 1 September 2014 to 31 January 2015 from the resources of the International Visegrad Fund. Project partners were: Kaposvári Egyetemet (KaposvárUniversity), Kaposvár from Hungary; Ústav sociálních inovací, o.p.s. (Institute of social innovations, p.b.o.), Kobylnice from the Czech Republic; Katolícka Univerzita v Ružomberku (Catolic University in Ruzomberok), Ruzomberok from Slovakia. The main goal of the project was to improve the accessibility of tourist services through tailored training of tourist staff for elderly and disabled people, development of tourism facilities and tourism workers' competitiveness on the labour market.

The project promoted the increase of tourism availability in the V4 for seniors and families through the training and development of staff competences in the area of receiving guests with special needs. Thanks to the project, a model for conducting trainings was created – attractive and effective training methodology and supporting didactic tools for trainees. Needs, possibilities, and upcoming trends were taken into account. In addition, the project disseminated active attitudes, increased awareness of the exclusion of older people, promoted the idea of active aging. The implementation of the project has strengthened the European dimension of lifelong learning and a sense of belonging to the regional community.
