ON THE THRESHOLD OF TOMORROW

On the threshold of tomorrow is the theme of the international youth exchange, implemented by the APURE Association for the Development of Regions, which was held on October 19-25, 2015 as part of the Erasmus+ Program. Project participants came to Sucha Beskidzka from Lithuania and Hungary, but in the Hungarian group there were also: Azerbaijan, Turks, Georgians, Spaniards, Kazasi. Students at seminars discussed diversity of cultures, national heritage, rural development and European identity. Participating in the Youth Dialogue, they discussed the European labour market and future forecasts, especially of young people who live in rural areas. They learned the techniques of effective self-promotion, planned their careers and answered the question of how to follow their dreams. They also took part in film workshops, developing the concept and script of the film "On the threshold of tomorrow".

Students were able to get acquainted with the cultural legacy of the countries represented by the exchange participants. During the national heritage evenings Lithuanian, Hungarian, Turkish, Ukrainian and Polish songs were played, tasting of traditional dishes, quizzes and games took place. They were able to learn the basic steps of regional dances and improve their language skills, and at the farewell meeting they danced the polonaise. A great attraction of the exchange was a rich sightseeing program and recreational activities prepared by the organizers. Students got to know the royal Krakow, visited the European Information Point, and in their spare time admired the golden Polish autumn in the Beskids.

Education through action, youth exchange under Erasmus+, has been a complete success. This is confirmed by the website created by the participants, as well as the film that was screened on the last day of the exchange. Teaching tolerance, conscious and deprived of complexes of intercourse in a united Europe motivated students to learn foreign languages and let them feel at ease in dealing with foreigners. Young people learned about their customs, broadened their knowledge about the culture and traditions of other countries, exchanged their professional experience. In carrying out the planned tasks, they launched their talents and demonstrated their creativity and commitment. Families and friendships have been established, which will surely result in future cooperation. When planning the next editions of the project and return visits, they said goodbye with regret, but in a joyful atmosphere: See you! Bachyty, görmək, látni, pamatyti!
